My name is Tim Dinkins and I’m in love with my wonderful wife, our fun-loving kids, and the amazingly gracious God who gave them to me. The basis for all I believe is God’s holy word as revealed in the sixty-six books of the Bible (2 Tim. 3:16). My aim in life is to proclaim Christ and to present every believer mature in Him (Col. 1:28). The best way to accomplish this goal is in the context of the local church. I’m a firm believer that the local church is the answer for living life the way God intended (1 Tim. 3:15). Living in the context of a church family is how we are to let the truth of Scripture be applied to the realities of life. It is here where the word of God (truth) is meant to be observed (wisdom).
I’m also a firm believer in the importance of knowing the context of what is being written. So let me to tell you a little bit about my context. I was born into a family of church planters who were serving in central Thailand. From a young age I learned the importance of learning how to communicate in different languages. I spent most of my formative years studying in English-speaking schools in Malaysia and the Philippines. When our family traveled back to the U.S. we would split our time between California and Oklahoma. I have lived in six countries on three different continents and I have visited more than thirty different sovereign nations (mostly in Europe).
My wife grew up in South America and I grew up in Southeast Asia. We met in Southern California and after getting married we decided to serve the Lord in Southeastern Europe (yes, we love the south). We spent five years there, learning two different languages and cultures (Albanian and Northern Macedonian), before moving to Kings County in Central California.
I love living here in the valley because it is a surprisingly diverse melting pot of cultures that include hints of all the places my wife and I have lived. Dios te bendiga! Zoti ju bekofte! Господ нека ве благослови! ขอพระเจ้าอวยพระพร! God bless you! and God bless y’all!
